Open Water Diver Course

Today there are no islands or resorts around the world, where you can’t see the well known logo of Padi or other reputable diving agencies, offering you the opportunity to try diving or enroll into a few days long diving course, making it look just as simple as signing up for a yoga class. But looking at these pictures you have to stop for a second and appreciate the effort of these two great men and honor their legacy.

Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Émile Gagnan designed the first successful and safe open-circuit scuba, known as the Aqua-Lung in 1942 and a new world has opened its doors for humanity..

And now this is your chance to enter that door. By joining our Padi Open Water Diver Course, you will consciously decide to become part of the underwater world and the diving community.

Why choose Sunkissed Divers Okinawa

Because our priority is you. The classes are held only in small groups, with no more than 4 students/ instructor with flexible schedule, giving you the attention you need and our diving gear is well maintained and consists of world renowned brands well over the industry’s standard.

Open Water Diver Course

Course schedule

The open water diver course has 2 main parts, the theory and the practical. We know you don’t want to sit in a classroom for a day on your holiday, so decided to offer all the materials online for the course, giving you the chance to study at your own pace from your mobile, tablet or PC, even before arriving to Okinawa.

The practical part, where you master all the necessary skills is spread over three days with flexible schedule.

Example:

1st day  09:00-12:00 Pool Training

2nd day 09:30-14:00 2 Open Water dives in the ocean from boat

3rd day  09:30-15:00 2 Open Water dives in the ocean from boat and written exam

Let’s say...

Let’s say on the first day you just arrived on the island and checking into your hotel at American Village near Chatan and on the second day, you have already planned to visit the famous Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, which is 1 hour drive away from Onna village . It won’t be a problem since we can start as late as 13:00 or even later during the summer months with both the pool training and the ocean dives. In this case, our course schedule would be like:

1st day  13:00-16:00 Pool Training

2nd day 13:30-17:00 2 Open Water dives in the ocean from boat

3rd day  13:30-18:00 2 Open Water dives in the ocean from boat and written exam

So whatever your plan is, we are here to help you.

Planned dive sites

Our main selection is Maeda Point/Blue Cave for the course, or if the wind is too strong for the boats, then will visit Gorilla Chop in Motobu,  but you can also upgrade your dives to the Kerama or Minna Islands for an additional fee.
